ViGEM, a leading provider of high-performance data logging systems, enables the control of data loggers through voice commands.
Data logging systems are used in the automotive industry for the qualification and validation of driver assistance systems as well as in the development of autonomous driving functions. Many test drives are conducted to collect and record sensor data, which is then used in the development lab to improve sensor settings or to train the artificial intelligence of driver assistance systems.
During the test drives, it is common for the recordings to receive so-called labels, which contain additional notes from the operators about special events and environmental conditions. These labels are later used to find categorized situations within the large data sets. These additional notes are usually entered by a second person who is involved in the test drive alongside the driver.
With voice control, in many cases, the test drive can be conducted solely by the driver of the test vehicle; an accompanying engineer is often no longer necessary. Markus Trauth, CEO of ViGEM, says: “We are working on the voice control of our systems with our customers for easier operation and higher cost efficiency of the test drives. The safe execution of the tests is, of course, the main focus. The driver of the test vehicle can concentrate on driving and safely input the additional data through simple voice commands.”
ViGEM voice control for data logging systems enables:
- More efficient test drives
- Easy labeling of recording data
The voice control is independent of an internet connection and thus offers:
- Very high protection of private data
- Simple and worldwide integration for test drives
