UDS stands for Unified Diagnostic Services and is the standardized application protocol layer of vehicle diagnostics according to ISO 14229. Via UDS, services such as fault memory access, data reading, routines, flashing-related functions, or security mechanisms are provided. In the logging world, UDS is often relevant when, in addition to bus data, diagnostic data or states are also to be read out selectively.
