TC10 defines standardized sleep and wake-up mechanisms for PHYs in the Automotive Ethernet environment.
TC10
Technical Committee 10
TC10 is the OPEN Alliance committee for Automotive Ethernet Sleep/Wake-Up. It defines an automotive-grade sleep/wake mechanism so that network segments can be put into sleep mode in a controlled manner and quickly woken up again when needed. This is particularly relevant for vehicles with partial networking and strict energy requirements because not all Ethernet segments are supposed to remain permanently active. For logging, diagnostics, and prototyping, TC10 is significant because test tools and PHYs often have to explicitly support or take these sleep/wake sequences into account.
