SOME/IP stands for Scalable service-Oriented MiddlewarE over IP and is the AUTOSAR protocol for service-oriented communication over IP networks. It supports request/response, fire-and-forget, event notifications, and fields and is a central middleware for Ethernet communication in modern vehicle architectures. In logging, SOME/IP is important because service-oriented communication flows on Automotive Ethernet can be decoded and analyzed with it.
