General transmission concept that sends parallel data serially and converts it back again at the other end.
SerDes
Serializer/Deserializer
SerDes stands for Serializer/Deserializer and describes a transmission principle in which parallel data is converted into a serial high-speed stream and then parallelized again on the other side. In the vehicle, SerDes is used to transport large volumes of data—especially video and sensor data—over long, lightweight, and robust links with low latency. In logging, SerDes is relevant because many cameras and displays do not speak Ethernet directly, but are first connected via GMSL, FPD-Link, GVIF, or A-PHY.
