RTSP controls real-time media streams, while RTP transports the actual audio, video, or sensor data.
RTSP/RTP
Real Time Streaming Protocol / Real-time Transport Protocol
RTSP is the Real Time Streaming Protocol for controlling real-time media streams, while RTP is the actual transport protocol for audio, video, or other real-time data. RTSP therefore controls sessions and transport paths, while RTP transports the payload and is complemented by RTCP. In automotive logging, this is particularly relevant for IP cameras and video streams, for example when camera data is logged or analyzed over Ethernet.
