MVCI stands for Modular Vehicle Communication Interface and refers to the standardized architecture for modular diagnostic access to the vehicle. In ISO 22900-3, MVCI in particular describes the object-oriented D-Server API so that diagnostic server applications can be implemented in an interchangeable and compatible way. In practice, VCI, communication server, and application together form the standardized access to ECUs and diagnostic services.
