The MIPI Camera Security Framework defines security mechanisms for protected image data transmission between the sensor and the ECU.

Mobile Industry Processor Interface Camera Security Framework
The MIPI Camera Security Framework is a security framework from the MIPI Alliance for automotive image sensor applications based on MIPI CSI-2. It addresses end-to-end security between the image sensor and the ECU or SoC. Among other things, the framework covers authentication, integrity protection, encryption, and the protection of camera command and control channels. For ADAS and AD logging, this is relevant because image data must not only be functionally safe, but also increasingly protected against tampering, unauthorized sensors, and data protection risks.
