Measurement Adapter

Secondary term or explanatory addition for Capture Modules.

In automotive logging, a measurement adapter is usually a hardware module that captures signals or vehicle buses close to the source and prepares them for a logger. In distributed logging architectures, this often corresponds to a Capture Module that takes in data from CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet, analog, or proprietary sensor interfaces and forwards it via Ethernet to a central Data Sink. The advantage is that long stub lines are avoided and signal quality as well as scalability are improved.
