Simple, low-cost sub-bus for sensors/actuators using the master-slave principle.
LIN
Local Interconnect Network
LIN stands for Local Interconnect Network and is a low-cost serial communication protocol for simple mechatronic subsystems in the vehicle, such as window lifters, seat adjustment, or climate actuators. A LIN cluster typically consists of exactly one master and multiple slave nodes; the master controls bus access via fixed scheduling. For data logging, LIN is important because many comfort and body functions communicate precisely via this low-cost network.
