IEEE 802.1Qci stands for Per-Stream Filtering and Policing (PSFP). The standard enables stream-specific counting, filtering, policing, and service-class handling in order to detect disruptive or misconfigured senders and limit their impact on other streams. For Automotive Ethernet and logging, Qci is important because robust networks must not only be fast and deterministic, but also protected against misbehavior by individual streams.
