GMSL stands for Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link and is a SerDes technology from Analog Devices for high-resolution video, audio, data, and control links over a single medium. GMSL is designed for high bandwidth, low latency, robust PHY characteristics, and automotive requirements such as EMI/EMC as well as functional safety. For logging and ADAS, GMSL is relevant because many cameras and displays in today’s vehicle platforms are connected via GMSL links.
