FPD-Link III is a SerDes technology from Texas Instruments for point-to-point transmission of video and control data over coax or twisted pair. It transports high-resolution digital video plus a bidirectional control channel over a single connection and is frequently used for cameras and displays in the vehicle. For data logging, FPD-Link III is important because many ADAS cameras deliver their image data to central computing units precisely over such SerDes links.
