Distributed Data Logging

Key term for ViGEM’s distributed logging concept using central loggers and external Capture Modules.

A Distributed Data Logging System is a logging architecture in which several acquisition modules are installed throughout the vehicle and deliver their data to one or more central loggers. The advantage is that sensors and buses can be tapped closer to the source, which improves cabling, scalability, and time synchronization. In ADAS/AD projects, this concept is especially important because very many high-bandwidth data sources must be recorded in parallel.
