BroadR-Reach is an early Automotive Ethernet physical-layer technology from Broadcom and is essentially regarded as the predecessor or forerunner of 100BASE-T1. It uses a single unshielded twisted pair for full-duplex 100 Mbit/s communication in the vehicle. In practice, BroadR-Reach and 100BASE-T1 are still sometimes used synonymously, depending on tooling, OEM history, or test environment.
