ASAM SOVD stands for Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics and defines an API for diagnostic communication in software-defined vehicle architectures with HPCs and classic ECUs. The standard is based on HTTP/REST, JSON, and OAuth and extends classic UDS-centered diagnostics with modern use cases such as logging, bulk data, configuration, and software updates.
