Back to the Office

June 02, 2020

After more than three months of home office, steadily decreasing numbers of infected persons, and a gradual normalization of everyday life, we are ready for "Back to the office". At the beginning of the pandemic, we had to provide mobile working conditions quickly and unbureaucratically for approximately 100 employees. Now we have to organize their return to the office.

Under strict hygiene rules and with extensive distance regulations, we want to return to normal business, now. In addition to the introduction of a shift system, we have equipped new spaces with office furniture within a few days to set up additional workstations with sufficient distance. A comprehensive returnee concept should help to keep the risk of infection low. Our CEO Markus Trauth says: "We are in the fortunate position that production, logistics and equipment testing could be maintained even during the shutdown. Customers, partners, and suppliers were able to contact us at any time and we did not have any significant delivery bottlenecks. Of course, ViGEM also has to accept economic losses and will try to compensate them in upcoming periods. Fortunately, we were not hit as hard by the pandemic as other companies. A big thank you to all employees, customers, and partners who supported us during this time.”

Temperature stability of data loggers

June 09, 2020

Test drives for the development of autonomous driving have to take place under diverse climatic conditions. In order to ensure that our data loggers deliver reliable results in a system-stable manner even under extreme temperature conditions, all individual components are extensively tested for their temperature stability in heating ovens during the development phase. The functionality of circuit boards, contacts, resistors, and other components is measured at a wide range of ambient temperatures and humidity levels using sensors and is controlled electronically to the set target conditions. Only those components that have successfully passed these endurance tests receive approval and may later be integrated into the devices. To qualify for production, the data loggers must also prove their stability as a whole in the heating oven at temperatures of - 25 to + 70°C. "Only those who succeed this test will finally make their way to the customer," reports our test field engineer. The ViGEM devices have been used in development projects for future mobility concepts at well-known automobile manufacturers for several years.

ATE and AVT postponed!

May 13, 2020

The Automotive Testing Expo (ATE) and Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo (AVT) in Stuttgart both have been postponed from June 2020 to June 2021. Unfortunately, this means that the world's largest exhibition for full-vehicle and component testing and validation technologies (ATE) , as well as the leading European exhibition for advanced technologies for autonomous vehicle development (AVT) have now also fallen victim to the corona pandemic. Nevertheless, let's look positively into the future and book the 8th to 10th June 2021 in our calendar today. We look forward to welcoming you next year at our stands at the trade fairs for future mobility in Stuttgart (Germany)!

ViGEM Folder for CCA 9003 and CCA 9010

March 04, 2020

Clear. Well-structured. For download: Our new ViGEM folder gives you a short overview of the advantages and differences of the two product lines CCA 9003 and CCA 9010, their main application fields and additional ViGEM services. The information material is available for free download on our website or you can contact us directly:

Both the basic solution CCA 9003 and the high-end line CCA 9010 are designed for uncompressed recording of enormous amounts of data (Big Data). Numerous interfaces for radar, lidar and high-resolution camera data make the loggers the core of a unique data handling concept. The Car Communication Analyzers (CCA) solutions are used by our customers of the automotive industry, their suppliers and partners for the efficient validation and qualification of automatic driver assistance systems (ADAS) as well as in the development of autonomous driving.

Innovative visualization solution

February 18, 2020

The combination of our data logger CCA 9010 and a SerDes Logging Adapter (SLA) enables the visualization of raw image data rates up to 800 Mbit/s.

The monitoring of such large amounts of data makes extremely high demands on the used visualization tools and pushes conventional solutions to their limits. With the optimized combination of SerDes Logging Adapter (SLA) from AED Engineering and our high-performance CCA data logger 9010, the recorded raw camera data can now be transferred directly and uncompressed via 10G Ethernet to a ROS system for visualization. Recorded situations can now be checked while driving.

Great impressions at CES in Las Vegas

January 16, 2020

A number of innovative products were presented for the first time at CES 2020 in Nevada last week - most surprisingly Sony unveiled its Vision-S futuristic car. For more than 4,000 exhibitors, the trade fair served as marketplace for breakthrough technologies. The company Luxoft (a DXC Technology Company) presented its Robotic Drive - End-to-End Acceleration of AD Development - including a ViGEM CCA 9010 data logger.

By leveraging the CCA 9010, Luxoft will enable and accelerate the delivery of vehicle-centric solutions and services that will allow automakers to deliver unique features such as advanced driving functionality. Collecting authentic real usage data will support vehicle engineering to improve accuracy of algorithms and time to market. “With our proven solution for the development of advanced driver assistance systems, automakers and their key partners are able to get the most precise data out of their test drives with the ViGEM data logging solution”, said Bernhard Kockoth, ViGEM technology scout and advanced development lead. After recording big data, the unique data handling concept as well as the robust data cartridge enables ViGEM customers to keep driving their vehicles while the data is transferred from the test drive site to the data ingest station or the main data center itself.
