At the Vehicle Electronics & Connected Services (VECS) in Gothenburg (Sweden) 2022, ViGEM and AED Engineering GmbH present the advantages of „Distributed Data Logging“ in ADAS & AD development. At their joint booth they show a sample setup of the proven CCA 9010 system solution. The CCA data loggers and removable data storage devices from ViGEM as well as the Serdes Logging Adapters (SLA) from AED Engineering have been in productive use for many millions of kilometers at OEMs and Tier1s for the development, validation, and verification of innovative ADAS & AD functions.

Our "Distributed Data Logging" solutions combine maximum flexibility regarding data sources and interfaces with a wide range of removable data storage variants. The robust data storage modules are easily accessible and can be replaced during operation (hot plugging). To reduce interference on sensor signals, the capture modules are positioned close to the data source. They transmit the sensor signals with 10G Ethernet to the central recording unit, the data logger CCA 9010. 

The SLA reliably performs the handling of LVDS cameras with conversion of RAW data as well as the detection of features like frame start and transmission of configuration data to the camera. All incoming data packets get a synchronized timestamp (gPTP IEEE 802.1AS).

The easy handling of the different capture modules as well as their intuitive software user interfaces can be coordinated through a single connection to the CCA 9010. Ease of use software functions for set up, prelabeling, trigger configuration as well as error tracking complete the high-performance hardware package. All data recorded during test drives can be encrypted in the removable data storage according to AES-256 and OPAL 2.0 standards. Maximum data security thus is assured seamlessly from the data logger to the data center.
