In-Line Data Compression for Efficient ADAS/AD Data Logging

Modern ADAS/AD validation generates massive volumes of camera raw data — driving storage costs, transfer times and post-processing effort to new levels. With integrated in-line video compression, the logging system helps reduce this data load directly where it is created or where it is ingested: in the Copy Station during upload to the data center or cloud or already in the Data Logger during recording. This gives users full control over the best trade-off between cost savings, data availability and workflow flexibility.

We demonstrate the integration of Jetraw by Dotphoton  into the logging workflow — a raw image compression technology designed for high-efficiency image data handling and AI/ML-oriented workflows. It compresses camera raw data with a ratio of approximately 6:1, while maintaining data quality suitable for machine perception and AI-based processing. This enables significant reductions in storage capacity, transfer time and infrastructure cost — without compromising the usability of the recorded data for ADAS/AD development and validation workflows
